Life Learning

Fire station field trip

Panera field trip

Candy harvest and dress up:-)  Rocky Balboa did not harvest any candy.

Cole, Adds and Sawyer

Jackson gained some cooking skills while working at the fair and earned the nickname, The Mac King.  We've reaped the rewards of his culinary skills, here at home.

Sometimes you just need to climb a tree, in the middle of the school day.......

with your Mom.  😀

Sometimes desk work isn't so fun.

Crashing hard after all of that walking and socializing with people:-)

Cold rainy days called for a trip to Dave and Buster's.  I am pretty certain we  had to use some math skills that afternoon.
So thankful for the opportunities that homeschooling allows this young man.  He took a class with Granddaddy and learned about surveying with drones.

Warning, the following is a long, overdue, sentimental mom post. 😬This guy has always hated sitting at a desk but he has never been afraid to try something new, if it means that some kind of physical activity is involved. He never has trouble setting an early alarm to get up before the sun comes up, for a gym workout or for a job. He's never liked to sit still for long so the square peg/round hole education methods never worked for him. I don't "brag" on him enough and he probably doesn't know how much he's taught me, as my child, son, student:-) I don’t have it all figured out but I’ve learned some pretty important lessons, oftentimes the hard way. At an early age, he kept me on my toes, trying to figure out the most unconventional schooling methods that would suit him(now his little brother is doing that:) Jackson's taught me that sometimes we have to work harder in one area than another but different doesn't mean deficient. You’ll have days when you question what your gifts are but the beauty is that God doesn’t always reveal those to us, all at once. Allow the challenges to grow you in the areas you need to grow; perseverance pays off later because you realize that everything that is worth having in life takes work, nothing is free. Don't compare yourself to others but let others help be a motivation; use your gifts to be the best you, and to glorify Him. Despite what the world tells us, your road to learning and experiencing life is not a race unless you make it one.....it's your journey and nobody else's will look like yours. Take your time. Enjoy it. In the end, remember this, “Every good gift bestowed, every perfect gift received comes to us from above, courtesy of the Father of lights. He is consistent. He won’t change His mind or play tricks in the shadows. We have a special role in His plan. He calls us to life by His message of truth so that we will show the rest of His creatures His goodness and love.” James 1 :17-18 Thank you, Jackson. Thanks for teaching me so much about the things that matter. Proud of you!

Swinging which involves a lot of skills including balance and in this case planning ahead so that there was some equal weight distribution.

There are so many things that we can learn from attending these football games as a family.  We learn a little about patience and a lot about dedication and perseverence.  Sometimes we learn about overcoming the odds when the playing field isn't "even"😜 Oh, and  see the guy with the "F" on his back?  F sometimes is the grade you get when you don't do your job adequately.  😂
