Sawyer's 5th Birthday

I wish I had a recent picture of these two together.  This is Sawyer and Davis, five years ago.  They are less than a week apart in age.  Look how tiny Sawyer was!  Happy 5th Birthday to these cousins!

While we were eating dinner that evening, Sawyer said, "I had a great birthday!"  I think he truly did.  He's been playing with all of the wonderful gifts but I think his favorite part of the day was playing with all of his buddies.

From Uwharrie to New Hanover

We spent some time around Uwharrie two weekends ago to celebrate Sarah Beth's upcoming wedding.  The shower was beautiful and it was nice to catch up with aunts and cousins.  Jackson and Webb stayed back for summer ball and then joined Sawyer and me.

The girls took Granny out for a late Mother's Day meal at Bonefish.  It's not often enough that we get to spend time together, just the four of us, but when we do, we make the most of it.  We usually laugh, A LOT.

Last week, we headed east to CB.  Papa and Grandma met us there and we enjoyed several days with them. The big boys went on a half day fishing trip.  They caught a few fish, not enough for a big fish fry, but enough for us to grill up this week:-)  Thanks Papa for taking care of the plans and finances of the trip.  The fish won't last but the memories from last week surely will.

On Saturday, we got to see the Bailey side at Davis' and Reece's birthday in Garner.  We are still enduring the heatwave but that didn't stop the kids from running and playing while the adults sat around and visited in the shade.  Fun was had by all.

Webb and Jackson played one of the last tournaments of the summer in Cary yesterday.   Jackson is nursing a pulled back muscle, AGAIN.  In a week or so, we will shut down for awhile and hopefully he will be good to go in August when football is back in session.

The boys were playing a spinning game, the kind where you spin a few times then race to the finish line.

Google this fish's teeth.  It's called a  Sheepshead.  It has human teeth (insert scream here)!
