December 2018

We all agreed, this was one of our best Christmases yet!  On Christmas Eve, we opened gifts at Holly's.  We also did a "white elephant" exchange this year.  I think everyone left with some fun gifts.  I actually ended up with a great NCSU glass but later, Granny gave me the small, plug-in heater that she bought, and "stole" from me that evening, because she decided she didn't really like it that much😂

Christmas morning included the tradition of eating sausage casserole at Granny and Granddaddy's with everyone and later, opening gifts with Papa and Grandma.  That evening, we ended back at the Brewer's where we ate (again:), played a family game and watched Christmas Vacation.  We all agreed that we need to make that an annual tradition.

We celebrated my birthday on the 27th.  I slept late and awoke to hot coffee from Caribou, cards, and more birthday snuggles from my boys.  We enjoyed a mostly relaxing day and dinner out.  It wasn't anything too exciting but it was one of my most memorable and happiest birthdays.  Those that know me, know that my love language is time and words.  I received some of the sweetest messages from family, friends and even a few of Jackson's buddies.  I've said I am going to print some of the texts and Facebook messages and save them for a rainy day.

As always, the Christmas season went by fast.  I'm thankful for the time that God has granted us to spend together.  I do cherish it all.

We didn't have too much trouble getting back into the swing of things.  We picked right back up with school, work and spring baseball (Can you believe that is here already?!?!)

Christmas cookies...can't even say or type that without thinking about George Straight's Christmas song😄

Solved the puzzle toy, that Abby gave to Sawyer.  He was so proud:)

We enjoyed lots of birthday celebrations!

Picture for entertainment purposes only:-)  We got our tree down in record time this year.

No, we don't have a new dog but everyone loves Winston, Remus' dog in Troy.  He hangs around us when we are at the cottage.

A few were missing by the time this photo was taken but this was Sara Beth's baby shower in Troy.  Pictured are aunts, cousins and extended family members.
SB went through quite a bit of heartache and pain to get this little boy and we are praying for wisdom, strength and good health in the final stretch.  I am so excited for her!
