Happy Easter!

Well, we are "relaxing" by the sea.  It's so nice to get away but my definition of relaxing changed in June when sweet Sawyer was born.  Relaxing now means that I don't have to cook or feel obligated to clean.  This weekend has also meant that I've had time to sneak in a daily nap.  Everyone is definitely happy!

Jackson went swimming yesterday.  It's warm here though the water is still cold.  Sawyer loves the beach mostly for it's sand. I spent most of my time on the beach yesterday trying to keep his hands out of his mouth. Still, he ate his share!

I love Jackson and Sawyer so very much.  Each day, I think God reveals something new to me through them about life, love, and forgiveness.  I know how much I love them and it's hard to imagine that He could love me so much more.  I pray that on this Easter Sunday, we will all experience even just a small glimpse of how much he loves each one of us.  Happy Easter!

The Past Three Weeks

A summary of the past three weeks:
 Jackson
Jackson's season opener was a few weeks ago.  His team is now 3-0!  We've all enjoyed the games.  Jackson wanted me to include in this post that he defeated Bowser's Castle in Super Mario Brothers.  This was a big news in our house!  We also finished learning lower case cursive last week.  One of the tutors told me last year that cursive was easier for dyslexic children because there are fewer opportunities for letter reversals.  We are finding that to be true.  We will finish our school year in May and by then, we'll be ready for the relaxed schedule that comes with summer. We'll do our annual testing in May.  Jackson is making great progress with the Barton System so I hope that we'll find that we've overcome some great obstacles this year.  I'm so thankful for his tutor, Ms. Lisa, and all that she's doing (and Jackson's hard work).

Sawyer
Sawyer is starting to venture off.  All of the baby gates are going up soon.
He is walking with the Elmo toy that was Jackson's.  It's been through four kids and looks rough but Elmo is still going.  Sawyer loves pushing him. He also likes being pushed on a toy that Laura loaned to him.  I've included a clip from this past weekend of Sawyer riding (briefly) then falling.  He was fine and didn't even shed a tear.
The newest thing that he's learned to do is throwing.  He's learned to throw balls and toys.  Sometimes we can get him to do it on command.  I'm not sure if we'll be laughing about it in a few months though (wink wink).
He went to his first concert last month.  We went to see Mr. Al in concert for the fourth year.  Jackson didn't attend this year; he thinks that he's too old.  Cousin Davis and Leah went and so did Dawny and Syan.  Our crowd has gotten smaller but still, I hope to continue taking Sawyer each year.  It's always such a great experience!

We had our annual Thompson Family Easter egg hunt this past weekend.  Jackson has enough chocolate to last for at least two weeks if he can keep the rest of the family out of his basket.   Sawyer didn't get to hunt for candy filled eggs but he enjoyed playing with the empty plastic ones. We are going to have to buy a lot more eggs and candy next year.  There will be seven kids hunting for eggs!

Easter is right around the corner which means we will all get a few days off from our daily routines.  Jackson and Anna have a bad case of Spring fever so a break is much needed right now:-)

Elmo is still going!
