Another football season has passed. Jackson finished up his junior season playing for the North Wake Saints. We met a few new families but were also joined by a few of our favorite Crusader families. Jackson had to make a long haul across Raleigh to attend practices each week but he said it was worth it.
This season, Jackson was privileged to work with some great coaches who not only love the game, but also love Jesus and have hearts for guiding these young men. The boys came from many different backgrounds. One of the young men went to Troy with us and we had a chance to get to know him better and learn about his home life. I was reminded how fortunate my boys are to have to parents who love them and support them, financially, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
The Saints went undefeated. We were ranked in the state and nationally. I don't think anyone was quite ready for the season to end but it ended on a great note when they defeated the Virginia team, Rocky Mount Warriors, in a shutout championship game.
We ended the summer with a trip to Troy where the Bradleys met us with us. The kids had fun riding 4-wheelers, dirt bikes, and swimming in the river.
Jackson worked the fair again this year. I was so proud to see how great he did taking orders and greeting customers. I know that he and Parker and a few of the other boys enjoyed hanging with each other for the week. It wasn't all work and no play:-)
We got new neighbors this fall. Another Brewer family moved in and we couldn't be happier. Webb and I love to hear the sounds of laughter that echoes across the yard.
Granddaddy turned "70" and I only have one picture to show from his party. It was nice seeing some old familiar faces and catching up with quite a few people that we've known for many years.
We enjoyed another Thanksgiving in the country this year. We had a great feast with Granddaddy and Granny then played a few rounds of Headbands while watching some football. The Flythes showed up later and the kids enjoyed their normal activities together. The boys did some hunting and we did a little target shooting that week.
We have a new Defy Gravity close by and one of the perks of homeschooling is that we get to enjoy outings without having to fight crowds. I took the Pettit kids and Sawyer there one Wednesday last week, while Jackson and Blake had Algebra 2 and Chemistry class here. The kids had such a great time. We grabbed lunch after and came back home and made S'mores over the fire outside.
We got some snow a few days ago. I don't remember the last time we had that much before Christmas. I heard that it was the 5th snowiest December on record.
The tree has been up for several weeks. Most of the presents are wrapped and the majority of shopping is done. The boys and I are looking forward to a few weeks off from school and work, and spending time with family and friends over Christmas.

Alex is graduating and we will sure miss him. Hoping his brother, Blake, continues playing so that we still get to hang out with the Pettit family each week.

These three have been playing on the same team since they were young.

We got new neighbors! Uncle Paul's brother and his family moved in next door. The compound is a little more lively these days.

I love having extras at our house. On this day, we had the Pettit kids over and then after co-op, Nate Craig and Kurtis stayed over through dinner, when Parker showed up.
