I'm not one to get overly excited about a new year. To me, it's another reminder of how quickly time passes. However, this year we rang in 2014 with some friends and a houseful of kids and it was quite joyous. It happened to be the best New Year's Eve celebration that we've ever attended. There was good food, good company, and entertaining games for the kids. The boys played against the girls in a doughnut eating contest and a mummy wrap contest. Jackson did great for his team; how could he not do well at at doughnut eating contest? We enjoyed many laughs and we all made it to midnight, Sawyer included!
Jackson is playing rec basketball and the season is well underway. That's a good thing because our first baseball practice is in one month! Ha! Sawyer and I were able to catch a game last weekend and it was so much fun to watch. Jackson's team only won one game last year and we have already surpassed that record. Yeah, I know, that shouldn't be a tough task. Actually, his team is undefeated and have three wins already. Jackson has also set goals for each game and so far, he's meeting them. He's getting better and getting more confident which makes me very happy after a very rough school week. I am always thankful for opportunities for him to discover his strengths and talents; our school week started off on a really rough note but ended on a much happier one. Thank you Jesus!
We went to "Winter Jam" recently and watched the majority of Christian artists perform. It was the first large venue concert for Jackson. It was Sawyer's and Bennett's first concert ever. Bennett and Sawyer were more interested in food and light up toys than music. They settled in once I purchased popcorn and drinks.
We started our preschool co-op last week. I'm excited about working with the kids and rotating weeks with Laura and Leah. It's a blessing to be able to work and play together with them and their children.
We have lots of fun in store today and through the weekend. I will post pictures next week.

| This made me laugh. Several of the boys were out playing and got the remote control plane stuck. Someone threw a football up and it got stuck. The next attempt was a basketball and it got stuck. Finally, Jackson climbed up and thankfully, he didn't get stuck! |
