August was a great month and we spent a lot of time at the beach with friends and family. We also celebrated Webb's 40th birthday. It was a fun-filled month balanced with rest and relaxation which readied us for the start of 5th grade; yep, school is back in session at the White house.
Jackson celebrated his 11th birthday on September 14th. Webb and I took him out for lunch where we met Grandma and Papa. He requested that we surprise him by taking him to a rib restaurant (he's so much like his daddy). Afterwards, he and I went to paint ceramics. It was nice to get to spend some quality time with him without distractions. We weren't done celebrating yet though. This past Saturday, we celebrated his birthday again with a few friends at the NC State game. A great time was had by all!
Jackson is playing a few travel tournaments with his summer team and that's been fun. He's joining a few West Raleigh boys to play flag football with the Salvation Army this fall. That's not a huge commitment either so it should be a good experience. Mostly, we are enjoying our free time outdoors, riding bikes, big wheels, and building ramps.
Sawyer is Sawyer and his main hobby is playing outside alone or either with Addison, Cole, and Bennett. My biggest struggle throughout the day is juggling his agenda, to play outside, with the 5th grade agenda:-) Sometimes, we simply take the school work outside.
Summer was good to us. I always hate to see it leave. One thing is for certain....it left us of with some great memories.
