Sickies

This week started well and ended well but the middle plain stunk!  Jackson woke up on Wednesday morning and didn't feel like eating.  That's not like him at all.  Shortly after, he told me that he was too tired to do school.  He's not used this excuse in awhile but still, I wasn't buying it (I regretted that later).  Not even an hour passed and the poor kid was hurling and there was little I could do to help him.  I wanted to keep Sawyer as far away from him and his room as I could.  Whew!  Well, Sawyer's three week cold decided to rear it's ugliest head that day too.  He was fussy, mad, hard to please, and just not his chipper self.  Webb had meetings and was tied up and I knew that I couldn't possibly ask family to come into our contaminated environment.  I found out quick how hard it is to look after two sick children.   By Thursday, Jackson was happy and relieved to be over that virus.  Still, Sawyer wasn't happy.  Finally, at 3:00 in the afternoon,  I decided to make a trip to Minute Clinic, not my favorite place in the world but I knew that it was going to be hard to get an appointment at our practice at that time of day.  After waiting for over 30 minutes in a drug store with a toddler, we were finally seen.  Yep, it should be called 60 Minute Clinic.  The practitioner was Indian and I couldn't understand half of what she said.  Heck, she probably couldn't understand me either.  I did catch that both of Sawyer's ears were infected but one was worse than the other and he was running a fever.  He still doesn't act well and last night was a rough night.  He and I are both tired today.  We're hoping and praying that the Amoxicillin will do the job and that Sawyer gets well soon.

Here are pictures from this week.  Jackson is starting a new history, science, and art curricula. He was quite inspired yesterday after reading about William Sidney Mount, a famous American painter.  Sawyer enjoyed painting too but he works in 5 minute intervals with pretty much anything and everything. Addison joined us for some painting too and I've included other pictures from some of afternoons this week with cousins.

Although she is unruly at times, she makes up for it in sweetness

"Random" painting is what Jackson called this one.  I love it!
